What is ‘Experience Nepal’?
Objectives of Experience Nepal
Nepal has always been an independent and sovereign country with glorious history, culture and tradition that date back to time immemorial. There are three major ethnic groups in terms of origin: Indo-Nepalese, Tibeto-Nepalese, and indigenous Nepalese, composed of Newar, Bhote, Rai, Limbu, Sherpa, Gurung, Tamang, Magar, Thakali, Brahman, and other smaller ethnic groups with their own unique culture, tradition and lifestyle. Official national language is Nepali, written in Devanagari script, spoken by almost 60 percent of population. There are more than forty other languages with numerous dialects, although rarely spoken outside ethnic enclaves. Nepal is the only Hindu state in the world although intermingling and synthesis of Hindu and Buddhist beliefs in practice. About 89.5 percent of population are Hindu, approximately 5.3 percent and 2.7 percent, Buddhist and Muslim, respectively; remainder, other religions, including Christianity.
The primary objectives of the program "Experience Nepal" is to provide general knowledge of the history, geography, culture, religions, art and architecture of Nepal to both local and international students.

Who can benefit from this program?

A Naturally gifted Himalayan kingdom Nepal, which is situated at geographical coordinates 28 degrees north and 84 degrees east has existed as a kingdom centered in the Kathmandu Valley for more than 1,500 years. Nepal is a beautiful country landlocked between China and India with a total land area of 147,181 square kilometers with physical diversities of mountainous, hilly and plain Terai regions make this country a piece of heaven. High waterfalls, enormous lakes, mind-refreshing rivers, ever going caves, wide range of species of bird and animals add flavors and one is liable to wonder how such a small country is rich in cultural diversity.


Experience Nepal is an intensive educational program to introduce Nepal to young Nepalese who have lived abroad for many years and have lost their educational and cultural values while living abroad. Students learn about Nepal by experiencing the real lifestyles and cultures across the country. This program is not only limited to Nepalese but it also open to foreigners who have a keen interest to learn about Nepal, its people, cultures, tradition and the general ways of life.
'Experience Nepal' program is designed by and managed by Orbit International Education and Orbit International College (Affiliated to Tribhuban University) collaboratively. It is a non-credit four-week long course especially designed to give an opportunity to students who wish to learn about Nepal in a short period of time. As the name suggests, it is a course that offers extensive experiential learning to both local and international students.
